Cathy Stashuk, owner-founder of Typeworks in Union City, CA, has been in the graphic arts industry since 1969. She began her career with a certificate from the Commercial Department of the New York Institute of Photography in 1969, then began her 20-year tenure at Arabian Horse World Magazine in Palo Alto, California, where she learned all aspects of magazine production beginning as typographer, ad designer, and finishing her remaining 5 years as Art Director.
She started her own business in 1989, with the genesis of Adobe Postscript, and was the first business to have a Postscript imagesetter in the East Bay. Cathy has 39 years experience working with four-color ad layout and type, 19 years experience using QuarkXpress and PageMaker, and 12 years using Adobe Illustrator, Freehand, InDesign Photoshop both for Mac and IBM platforms.
Her client base is extensive spanning the East and West Bays and ranges from local printers, print brokers, graphic artists to Fortune 500 Corporations.
